Vilandria is the benchmark cuvée of Les Quatre Tours, the true signature of its authentic vineyards. It is a blend of the best plots from the 5 villages covered (Venelles, Aix-En-Provence, Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, Éguilles, Lambesc). It expresses all the richness and complexity of its terroirs.
The vines are planted on a marl and chalk soil, on the hillsides of the Trevaresse mountain chain, 250 to 400 meters above sea level. The south exposure allows for good ripeness, while the altitude and the Mistral wind temper the heat and give the wine freshness.
A classic Provençal rosé: pink salmon color, crisp and delicate nose with persistent raspberry/ blackberry fruit, floral and pink grapefruit notes. Well balanced with a refreshing, crisp acid.
Les Quatre Tours came into existence in 1924 (many cooperatives were born in that period, just after the 1st World War). Located in the town of Venelles, it operated as a very typical village co-op until the end of the 20th century, where the locals went with their jerry cans in order to "refuel" from the large tanks and then bottle the wines at home. Most of the wine was sold in bulk to negociants; nothing was put in bottle at the co-op.
