This is a one time bottling…When this wine originally went into barrel it was intended to be part of a blend. After numerous tastings and blending trials, we decided this wine was too good to not be bottled on its own. 100% Stillwater Syrah that was aged in 50% new and 50% used French oak barrels over the course of 20 months.
It has a dark bouquet, full of smoked meats, olive tapenade, bright acidity with a long classic white pepper finish.
The story behind the name is that sometimes original intent gets lost in the process, but the result is still great…and in some cases better than intended. 99 cases produced
