The label proudly declares that this wine - a three-grape blend based on Touriga Nacional - is finished in Port barrels. It has rich scents of jammy red and black fruits, followed by sticky flavors of stewed plums, baked strawberries and some raisins. There is indeed some barrel influence in its chocolatey finish, and an underlying richness of flavor that can perhaps be attributed to the barrels' former inhabitant.
This wine gets better and better as it lingers in your glass. I got baked plums and creme brulee. Aged in Ruby Port Casks for 9 months. This wine is rich, velvety and beautiful!
