TASTING
Deep golden in color, our Carneros Chardonnay opens with lovely aromas of citrus, green apple and crème brûlée. The palate is soft and creamy from complete malolactic fermentation and sur lie aging with weekly stirrings. Flavors of Meyer lemon and pear follow over the tongue followed by hints of minerality. Barrel fermented and aged in French oak, this vintage shows elegant structure with vibrant acidity and a supple yet lingering finish.
VINEYARDS
We believe great wines are made in the vineyard and are committed to farming sustainably and naturally to preserve these properties for the long term. We are certified Napa Green at our Rutherford winery and vineyard. In 2019 all six of our estate vineyards were certified Fish Friendly Farming, as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
VINTAGE
The 2020 Carneros growing season produced smaller clusters across the board with concentrated flavors and lower brix at harvest. A warm, dry winter kicked off the year and we didn’t experience the typical chilly rains until end of March. Summer 2020 in Carneros was relatively cool followed by a late season warming trend that led to an early pick during mid-August.
