The Optu Red Mountain displays the best of the best from every vintage, where we’re choosing a barrel or two from some of the top lots of the vintage, earmarking them for this final blend. “It’s definitely the most fun and involved wine to put together, and gives us a look into how great this 2018 vintage is shaping up to be,” shares Will. There is a softness and fruit driven style to the Cabernet Sauvignon, coming from The Canyons Vineyard, along with some flashy aromas and lots of good toasty characteristics. “This is our mainstay,” adds Charlie. “It’s the wine we’ve made in each vintage since 2000.” Cocoa and blackberry notes come through on the palate, found with a plush tannin structure and juicy finish.
